Ethical Fashion Favourites: Paperchain Jewellery
I've been a huge fan of Paperchain, the charitable, ethical and sustainable fashion jewellery brand, for a while now after being introduced to them via Rosy Penguin, so when they approached me to preview their new Autumn/WInter collection I couldn't wait to share it with you!
The new collection from Paperchain is serene and idyllic, with cool blues, creamy cement tones, pale pinks and earthy greens. Perfect for a fairly minimalist dresser like me, these necklaces are supersize in length, so make a bold statement, but the colours all beautifully complement each other and look great with even the most simple, all-black outfits. I love pairing mine with an oversized shirt dress, heeled boots and a duster coat. No other jewellery is needed, as the Paperchain pieces for me do all the talking.
Now, not only do they look good, with their statement size, quirky shapes, rich textures and calming colour palette, but Paperchain jewellery does good too. Each piece is 100% handmade from recycled paper in Uganda, where the non-profit brand (which is also a registered charity) also supports the rescue and support of street children.
'Beautiful beads doing beautiful things', is Paperchain's tagline, and that is certainly the case; the intricate hand-rolled beads are crafted by a wonderful team of Ugandan Mothers in Kampala, whose creative community helps fund local charity projects like Dwelling Places, New Beginnings and Back Yard Bible Club.
So, if you're looking to refresh your jewellery collection, or perhaps searching for a unique, one of a kind Christmas gift, I would wholeheartedly recommend Paperchain as one of my favourite ethical fashion brands that truly puts attention to detail into every step of the supply chain, not only by producing beautiful, wearable and affordable products, but selflessly giving back to a community in need too.
I hope you've enjoyed learning more about this amazing cause, and liked my pictures (trying out a new photography style for the blog you might notice!). Let me know in the comments and get in touch to find out more about Paperchain.
