Studio 236: Fashion Foundry

I'm still buzzing from a fantastic day in Glasgow on Thursday, including vegan goodies from my favourite cruelty-free cafe bar Mono, a visit to the Nu Blvck studios, some Christmas shopping   (yes I am super organised this year!), a meeting with Creative Scotland and finally, the wonderful Fashion Foundry event, Studio 236! A celebration of the 5 emerging fashion designers based at South Block, the event was filled with fizz, food (amazing sarnies fromPiece) and fun, with even the Sleekit Studio puppy Luna joining in!

The designers (Rachel Mcmillan, Iain McDonald, Piotr Pyrchala, Barbra Kolasinski and Robert Newman) put on a great party, with guests such as MUA Klara Chomicz and stylists I'll Be Your Mirror. We got to preview toiles, sketches and mood boards from the brands' new collections, purchase from sample sales, and network with Glasgow's fashionistas, while enjoying the world's best brownies from Bakery 47.

I adore Sleekit Studio (by Iain McDonald) so much that I wore a Dead Sleekit tee-shirt dress to the party. As you can see below it matched my hair perfectly! His gorgeous printed scarves are now available to buy online, and keep your eyes peeled as he is now designing prints for Topshop's summer collection!
