Style Concierge: Personal Shopping at Harvey Nichols
As some of you may know, early last year I worked for Menswear at Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh, and recently I've been delighted to be invited back as a blogger to explore some of their efforts to become a style destination for truly experiential retail. Last week I had the chance to take part in Style Concierge, a dedicated personal shopping service offered at the department store, to style some outfits with the latest designer collections in store.
The space for Style Concierge is beautifully designed, with a neutral colour palette, lovely scents drifting around form ESPA luxury candles and reed diffusers, and lots of comfy seats, Vogue issues everywhere, fluffy carpets and opulent curtains, with plenty of space to strut your stuff and huge mirrors for checking out your new look.
"Clients come to us to look for help selecting specific outfits for special events in their life, like weddings, anniversaries, film premieres, and festivals. We also get requests to overhaul their work wardrobes, and offer support to breathe life back into everyday wear."
"We love building close relationships with our clients, who we check in with regularly when products arrive that we think they'll love. We tailor each appointment to the client's individual style, while encouraging people to step outside their comfort zone and experiment with designs we dedicate time to picking out for them."
- Kathryn Duncan, Personal Stylist.
So these are my 3 looks, styled with the help of Kathryn Duncan at Style Concierge in Edinburgh. I gave her the brief of creating some easy, comfortable, timeless day-to-night outfits suitable for London Fashion Week this month. The Helmut Lang leather leggings proved to be a real hit; they fit like a dream and looked great with both heels and flats, and the two jackets by Isabel Marant Etoile looked fab as a spring throw-on. What do you think of the looks?

I think the best part of my Style Concierge experience, apart from having fabulous fashion chats with Kathryn, was getting out of my comfort zone. While we kept the clothes monochromatic and minimalist, we pushed the boat out for shoes and bags. I particularly fell in love with the classic black and gold YSL bag and these running scrappy blue stilettos by Aquazurra.
