Are you interested in sustainability and fashion? Living in Scotland and fancy attending some events this month? You're in the right place! There are some fantastic new fashion shows and other events coming up, including the R Sustainable Fashion Show organised by students of Edinburgh College of Art, a Future of Fashion evening with BIMA Scotland in Glasgow, a vintage charity catwalk and auction in Galashiels, as well as several exciting events accross the country in the run-up to Fashion Revolution Week.

First off, we have the hotly anticipated R SUSTAINBLE FASHION SHOW at Edinburgh College of Art on Sunday 11th March from 5:30pm.

Second year ECA students Daniela Groza and Immy McAndrew – studying Jewellery and Architecture respectively – are joined by Milda Lebedyte, a University of Edinburgh Chemistry student. They have also partnered with ASCUS, a non-profit organisation based in Edinburgh committed to bridging the gap between the arts and sciences, to deliver the show. By combining their creativity and knowledge of science, they hope to offer long-term solutions for both the ethical and environmental repercussions of consumeristic culture.

Come down to the West Court theatre at the Edinburgh College of Art to explore the impact of fast fashion, exploring sustainability in the fashion world under our theme of 'Cycles'. During the show there will be an exhibition by a range of artists that have explored sustainability through mediums other than fashion. This includes work on the theme of 'Consumption' by 'The Poetry Column' poets. There will also be a raffle, full of amazing prizes including a 4 course meal with champagne for two at Timberyard! All profits from the show will go to ASCUS Labs to help develop the relationship between art and science.

Heriot-Watt Univesity Fashion Students present a fabulous Vintage Fashion Show event in aid of Macarts Centre and Cancer Research on Saturday 10th March from 7pm. A fashion show, with vintage clothing auctioned off at the end of the night, along with stalls and drinks will help raise money for these two great charities.

Speakers include Fiona Chautard (Fashion & Textile Industry Consultant, at Trends Radar), Sarah Jordan (Co Founder of Y.O.U. underwear), Alan Shaw (Manager at the Centre for Advanced Textiles at The Glasgow School of Art) and Cally Russell(Founder and CEO of Mallzee). This is not to be missed!
