Trend Tuesday: Sixties Swing

From the moment I spied this sultry sixties leather coat, I fell head over heels in love, and have been wearing it pretty much every day since, so here's an entire blog post dedicated to my new favourite jacket in the world.

The winged collar, bold buttons, bright colour and swing shape of this genuine sixties gem has given me total mod vibes, so I decided to go all out and style a head to toe look. I paired this forest green leather piece with a cowl neck black jersey top tailored black trousers (rolled up at the ankle to emphasize the cropped shape), simple silver hoop earrings, and burgundy patent leather loafers with a block heel from a local charity shop.

I found this coat at Carnivale Vintage, my favourite vintage store in Edinburgh, where it was crumpled up ready to be waxed and sewn up. That's the best thing about Carnivale; it's proprietor Rachael puts so much time and compassion into her finds, fixing every ripped seam, missing button, stained fabric or anything that's not absolutely perfect and era-appropriate. That level of care just isn't found at chain stores or more established boutiques, and surprisingly the prices are super affordable; this coat was only £40!

Big thanks to the lovely Cera Kamonji for taking these photos, and walking the gloomy streets of Edinburgh's old town to inject some sixties glamour into those ancient cobbles!
