Spring/Summer at Edinburgh Boutiques
This month there's been some exciting new developments in Edinburgh's thriving independent shopping scene. At the moment I'm loving Atticus Boutique and Elk & Wolf, brand new niche fashion and lifestyle stores in The Arches, and Kakao by K and Jane Davidson on Thistle Street. But my old favourites Covet and Godiva are on fire just now, with two fabulous events celebrating their respective Spring/Summer collections!
Godiva

Godiva is Edinburgh’s most original independent fashion boutique. Unconventional, innovative and liberated, Godiva strives against the monotony of fast fashion to provide a truly unique alternative.
Housing a backroom of hand-picked quality vintage clothing and a front showroom filled with pieces by talented local designers and independent brands, Godiva is a treasure trove of one-off or limited edition garments and accessories.
I've just returned from a wonderful event at Godiva Boutique in Edinburgh which celebrated their new shop refurbishment, which looks rather lovely, and new collections from a range of talented independent designers, both local and international. It was brilliant to see some familiar faces of Edinburgh bloggers at the event (although sadly my face was full of flu- I left so early that the party's still going!) and lots of treats from local Grassmarket shops like nail art from Ladyboss Collective, cake from Lovecrumbs, chocolate from Mary's Milk Bar and drinks from Hula Juice Bar.
Check out this wonderful little boutique - a mixture of carefully curated independent ethical fashion, vintage and retro clothing and beautiful jewellery, accessories and gifts- on Instagram!
Covet

Covet is an Edinburgh accessories boutique showcasing top affordable luxury handbag and jewellery brands that has recently launched its own eponymous collection designed by the Covet team and named after top spots in the city, like the New Town. The new collection is perfect for spring with bright, bold colours and metallics leading the way for accessories trends this season, and easy-to-wear bag shapes that suit every style.
Celebrating its 10th year of business, Its brilliant to see Covet successfully launch their 2nd collection of luxury handbags, designed in Edinburgh and handcrafted in Spain from the finest Italian leathers.
Anna Somerville and Blaise Donald, directors of Covet say : “we want to offer investment pieces with an edge - high end designer quality in an array of colours, including punchy metallics, at an affordable price”.
Covet’s Spring Summer 2017 Collection is characterised by timeless design and quality craftsmanship.
The handbags, which come in a selection of 10 gorgeous colours, can be worn as a clutch, a shoulder bag or a satchel, offering great versatility as well as adding effortless sophistication to any outfit. Here's a few pictures I took at the event!
Thanks for having me at both of these brilliant events guys! I can't wait to see whats coming next.
