Taylor Morris at Harvey Nichols

Taylor Morris is a British sunglasses brand founded by Made in Chelsea star Hugo Taylor and his best friend Charlie Morris. Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the founders themselves in their biggest stockist Harvey Nichols to find out more about their company and preview the new collection alongside some other bloggers and press over lunch on the beautiful HN fourth floor restaurant in Edinburgh.

The passionate design duo behind Taylor Morris have a real eye for modern luxury. The eyewear is totally unisex and although it feels really expensive, with truly high quality craftsmanship,  the price tag is more attainable than most. The young brand surely stands out amongst the often tired sunglass designs of more established labels at Harvey Nichols. You can shop from some of my favourite Taylor Morris styles here.

The new collection, seen above, is a collaboration with Morgan Motor Company,  inspired by

traditional 1930’s racing goggles, combined with current trends within the eyewear industry. Both brands share the same

British sensibilities, luxurious feel, a certain eccentricity to their designs, and a commitment to craftsmanship.  A rather unlikely but cool collaboration, with a retro Hollywood aesthetic.

I was immediately drawn, as I always am with my big ol head, to the larger shapes, so I ended up going home with this gorgeous pair of aubergine coloured retro style sunglasses. I really like the thick, solid frames, the brushstroke stripes and the subtle purple tint. Now the Scottish sun is finally peeping through I've had the opportunity to wear these all week, I'm totally in love.

I'll leave you with a picture of the most delicious dessert I've probably ever had: a sticky toffee pudding with caramelised banana, banana ice-cream and caramel sauce. Which came after a lovely cauliflower veloute and a wild mushroom gnocchi. Sometimes I wonder if I should just give up fashion and become a food blogger instead!
